Gamer Tribute is a gaming blog created by Vik Reddy, a long-time gamer and veteran pilot of EVE Online. It’s an independent media site heavily rooted within the realm of video games. The main pillars of Gamer Tribute revolve around the following:
- EVE Online War Stories – A retrospective look at the history of EVE Online’s major wars during 2010-2016 through the perspective of Vik Reddy, a Gallente battleship pilot, as he entered nullsec for the first time. It focuses on the key battles, propaganda, and the evolution of fleet tactics over the years with respect to the time period in which they took place.
- World of Warcraft Cinematic Quest Guide – A massive cinematic walkthrough of the storyline quests in World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King from the Alliance perspective; involving over 10,000 original screenshots. Incorporating WoWHead’s integrated tool-tips, it portrays the tale of a Night Elf Warrior named Vikstone in his mission to kill the Lich King and avenge his murdered clan. It’s a nostalgic twist between a role-playing story and a pictorial quest guide, allowing all World of Warcraft veterans to re-live specific moments in the game’s lore just as they all took place in 2009-2010.
- World of Warcraft: Northrend Atlas – As a parallel project to the World of Warcraft Cinematic Quest Guide, the Northrend Atlas is meant to be the ultimate media resource on the web for a pictorial representation of the continent of Northrend. It contains hundreds of original HD screenshots of major landmark locations, including 1st person panoramic aerial views. Each area consists of its lore (with source info from WoWWiki) and its respective quest arcs are linked to Vikstone’s story for all of Wrath of the Lich King’s questing zones.
- Star Wars Galaxies Chronicles – Star Wars Galaxies has been defunct for many years. Created in dedication to Vik Reddy’s old SWG guild, Star Wars Galaxies Chronicles is a reflection of the game in its pre-CU stage and focuses on its history as a pioneer in the early generation of MMORPGs. It explains SWGEmu, the now successful reverse-engineering project by gamers who brought the game back from the dead. Included are archived player-written guides relevant to major aspects of the game, from the process of becoming a Jedi to the player-driven economy. Star Wars Galaxies Chronicles stands as a permanent snapshot back in time for all SWG veterans and as a testament to one community’s willpower to bring back those memories.
